Dubai will become the focal point for the world’s most elite special forces in early February 2025. The Al Ruwaya Training Base will host the sixth UAE SWAT Challenge International Championship, a prestigious event organized by the Dubai Police.
The scale of the competition is remarkable: 93 elite teams from across the globe will compete in the five-day event. Notably, Kazakhstan is setting a record with an unprecedented 12 teams participating, the most significant representation from a single country. Kazakhstan’s special forces return to the championship following a strong showing last year when Team Sardar claimed the bronze medal.
“The UAE SWAT Challenge has become the premier international platform for showcasing the skills of special tactical units,” remarked Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. He emphasized that the growing number of participants from diverse regions highlights the competition’s esteemed reputation.
The championship program includes five rigorous tests designed to assess distinct facets of professional training, ranging from tactical operations to high-altitude maneuvers. Particular focus is placed on assault tactics, rescuing personnel, and overcoming complex obstacles.
Brigadier Obaid Mubarak Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, highlighted that the event serves as a competition and a forum for sharing best practices in operational response. “We aim to create an environment that fosters both fair competition and the professional development of all participants,” he stated. The championship, which will be held from February 1 to 5, promises to be one of the most significant events on the 2025 special forces calendar.
