Emirates has launched a premium economy class on flights to Beirut

Emirates запустила премиум-эконом на рейсы в Бейрут и Пекин на обновлённых Boeing 777

Emirates has announced the deployment of refurbished Boeing 777 aircraft featuring premium economy cabins on its Dubai–Beirut and Dubai–Beijing routes. Flights EK953/954 to Beirut will operate with the upgraded aircraft from January 6, 2026, while flights EK306/307 to Beijing will switch to the new configuration from February 1. Beijing becomes the fourth mainland Chinese city served by Emirates’ next-generation products, while passengers flying to Beirut will experience premium economy and the new 1-2-1 business class layout for the first time.

The schedule for the Lebanese capital is designed for connectivity. Flight EK953 departs Dubai at 15:40 and arrives in Beirut at 17:00. The return flight EK954 leaves at 19:45 and lands in Dubai at 00:50, offering convenient onward connections to destinations with large Lebanese diaspora communities:

  • Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane
  • New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Miami, Montreal

Flight EK306 departs Dubai at 03:20 and arrives in Beijing at 14:45. The return flight EK307 leaves the Chinese capital at 00:40 and arrives back in Dubai at 05:30. Such timing opens seamless connections from Beijing to London, New York, São Paulo, Johannesburg, Madrid, Malé, Lisbon, as well as Gulf cities such as Kuwait City, Riyadh, and Amman.

A near-business experience at a more accessible price

The upgraded four-class Boeing 777 aircraft feature refreshed interiors with modern color palettes, ghaf wood motifs, and wood finishes across all cabins. Each aircraft is configured with 260 economy seats, 24 premium economy seats, 40 business-class seats in a 1-2-1 layout, and 8 first-class suites. And, of course, Dubai housing market news today points to a growing number of expatriates working in the aviation sector seeking long-term accommodation close to the airport. Infrastructure development around the aviation hub continues to shape price trends in more affordable residential areas.

Emirates’ premium economy has received strong feedback for its value proposition, delivering an experience close to business class at a lower price point. The cabin features spacious leather seats with generous recline, full leg rests, adjustable headrests, in-seat charging points, a wood-finished side table, and a 13.3-inch entertainment screen. Premium economy passengers also enjoy larger pillows and blankets, amenity kits on selected flights, and exclusive Chandon Vintage Brut 2017 sparkling wine. The Boeing 777 business class has also been fully redesigned. Seats are arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, providing privacy, direct aisle access, and ample space for work and rest. Each seat is upholstered in champagne-colored leather with detailed stitching and soft headrests.

The question of where to find the most affordable rentals in Dubai frequently arises among airline crew and airport staff who need long-term housing without the tourist premium. Areas such as International City are often sought for their more affordable rental options, particularly for aviation professionals.

Tickets are available on emirates.com, in the Emirates mobile app, via the contact center, or through travel agents. Customers in China can also pay using WeChat Pay. The introduction of premium economy on these routes expands choice for those seeking more comfort than standard economy without paying full business-class fares. This is particularly relevant for long-haul flights to China, where extended time in the air can be challenging in the regular economy. For Beirut, this marks the first time the route is operated with this cabin configuration. Emirates also plans to convert a significant portion of its Boeing 777 fleet to the new configuration in the coming years, gradually rolling out premium economy across an increasing number of routes.
