UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, accompanied by Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, toured the Dubai Airshow 2025 exhibition zone at Dubai World Central on Tuesday. The largest edition of the event, held from 17 to 21 November, has drawn the world’s key players in aviation, defence and aerospace.
During the tour, Sheikh Mohammed reviewed the latest innovations in aviation, defence and space, stressing the importance of technological advancement and enhancing competitiveness at regional and global levels. He also examined new civil and military aviation projects in the presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman of Emirates Airline and Group, alongside several senior officials.
Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the UAE’s achievements in innovation and research, which have strengthened the country’s position as a leading aviation hub. He noted that sustaining this leadership relies on strong partnerships with global aviation leaders and continued development of highly skilled national talent. He added that Dubai will keep investing in smart infrastructure and advanced airport solutions to ensure the sector remains ready for future challenges.
Dubai Airshow gathers 1,500 exhibitors from 115 countries
Sheikh Mohammed stated that the Dubai Airshow brings together the innovation and expertise that are shaping the future of aviation and aerospace. He emphasised that the UAE is developing the sector as a key economic driver and a central pillar of a knowledge and technology-based national vision.
Throughout the tour, the Ruler visited central pavilions showcasing the latest commercial and military aircraft, sustainable and hybrid aviation technologies, new air mobility solutions and advanced defence and space systems. He also received briefings on projects aimed at increasing flight efficiency and reducing carbon emissions.

One highlight of the tour was the Chinese passenger jet C919, making its Middle East debut. Developed by COMAC and seating 192, the aircraft offers competitive fuel efficiency and operational performance, marking China’s entry into the global commercial aviation market. Sheikh Mohammed also visited the CATIC pavilion, which showcased UAE-China aviation cooperation; the Strata-Mubadala pavilion, showcasing UAE-built aerospace components; the EDGE pavilion, showcasing advanced defence technologies; and the LODD and Dubai South pavilions.
This year’s edition welcomes more than 1,500 exhibitors, including 440 first-time participants. The event has drawn 148,000 trade visitors and 490 military and civil delegations from 115 countries. It features 21 national pavilions, including Morocco’s debut, 98 chalets and an additional 8,000 square metres of display area, plus 120 startups and 50 investors.
More than 200 aircraft appear across the flying and static displays:
- commercial jets from leading manufacturers
- military aircraft of multiple classes
- premium private jets
- next-generation unmanned systems
- future aviation technologies
