Tickets for the New Year celebration at Burj Khalifa are already on sale

Emaar has opened ticket sales for the New Year show in Burj Park, and this year the company decided to change the format entirely. For the first time, the celebration will stretch over eight days — from December 31 to January 7. Previously, everything ended on the first night with fireworks, people went home or to hotels, and the city returned to everyday life. Now the organizers want to keep the festive atmosphere for a whole week, turning Downtown Dubai into a stage where something new will happen every evening.

Most of the Downtown area will remain freely accessible to everyone. You can come, stand somewhere on the promenade or by the lake, and watch the show from afar. But if you want to sit in the front row with the best view of the fireworks, laser show and live performances, you’ll have to buy a ticket to Burj Park. The prices are as follows:

  • adults will pay 997.5 dirhams including VAT
  • children aged 5 to 12 will enter for 577.5 dirhams
  • children under five can enter for free, but even they must have a reservation and receive an entry badge

Tickets are sold exclusively online on the official event website. The organizers emphasize that entry to Burj Park is only possible with a ticket plus the badge, which must be collected in advance at designated pick-up points.

The badge must be collected before December 30 — otherwise entry to the show will be impossible

The badge can be collected from December 26 to 30 in two city locations. In Dubai Mall, it can be picked up opposite Café Nero near the ice rink, where there are always many tourists and it’s easy to find the right spot. In Dubai Hills Mall, the pick-up point is located next to The Storm Coaster attraction, which itself serves as a landmark for mall visitors. On December 31, badges are not issued at all, which is a critical point for those who tend to leave everything until the last day.

Many tourists arrive in Dubai on December 30 or 31 hoping to buy tickets on-site or sort out the formalities right before entering. This year that will not work. Organizers require collecting the badge in advance to avoid crowding and chaos in the final hours before the show. If you don’t make it by the 30th, entry to Burj Park will be impossible, even with a purchased ticket and payment confirmation on your phone.

All the most recent real estate news in UAE shows a sharp increase in demand for short-term apartment rentals in Downtown Dubai during the New Year holidays, as property owners raise prices three to four times compared to regular months, and apartments with Burj Khalifa views get booked several months ahead. Investors who purchased property in this area are now seeing real returns on their investments precisely during such large-scale events.

Emaar describes this year’s show as a production that will surpass all previous ones. Downtown Dubai will turn into a multi-point stage where synchronized performances will unfold simultaneously from Burj Khalifa Lake to the Dubai Mall promenade and across the entire tower façade. Wherever you look, something is happening — live performances, visual spectacles, moving platforms, aerial stunts, fireworks and technologies that the company is keeping secret for now.

A large parade will pass through Downtown, featuring massive platforms, performers, and puppet figures depicting Dubai’s culture and spirit. The lineup of performers has not yet been revealed; Emaar promises to announce details closer to the event, fueling public anticipation with gradual teasers.

The eight-day celebration format changes tourism logic and requires intensified city preparation

Stretching the celebration over a week is a strategy to keep tourists in the city longer than just one night. Previously, people would arrive on December 30, celebrate New Year’s Eve and leave on January 2. Now there is a reason to stay until January 7, because each evening promises a new show, new performances and new impressions. This means more hotel nights, more restaurant visits, and more mall shopping. The economic effect of this format is evident for all players in the tourism industry.

Experts claim that the benefits of property maintenance in Dubai become apparent during major public events. Buildings in the city center require enhanced preparation several weeks before the occasion:

  • checking and testing all safety systems, including fire alarms and evacuation exits
  • deep cleaning of façades, lobbies, common areas and surrounding territory
  • maintenance of elevators, which operate at maximum capacity during the holidays
  • inspection of air-conditioning systems, because even in winter Dubai can be uncomfortable indoors with large crowds
  • hiring additional staff for round-the-clock monitoring and quick response to any issues

Management companies begin preparations a month in advance, coordinating actions with the police, ambulance services and fire departments. Dubai is famous for its ability to organize significant events without chaos, thanks to meticulous preparatory work by multiple government agencies.

A ticket costing nearly a thousand dirhams may seem expensive to residents. Still, for tourists who fly halfway across the world to celebrate New Year at the foot of the tallest building on the planet, it is a reasonable price for a guaranteed view and comfort. Free access remains for those willing to stand on the periphery, push through crowds and watch the show from a distance. The premium zone offers seating, amenities, proximity to the action, and the opportunity to enjoy the performance calmly, without pressure.

Organizers expect tens of thousands of visitors every evening. Downtown Dubai is already preparing for the influx; road services are planning street closures, the metro will increase train frequency, and taxis will operate in reinforced mode. New Year’s Eve in Dubai has long become a global tourist attraction, and people travel here from all continents to later say they welcomed the holiday at Burj Khalifa.
