The tenth session of the Joint Committee between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Kazakhstan has concluded in the Kazakh capital. The meeting was co-chaired by the UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, and Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Zhaslan Madiev. The agenda covered a wide range of areas — from international cooperation and investment to healthcare, transport services, space technologies and energy.
The outcomes of the negotiations reflected the strengthening of a historic partnership. Both sides noted dynamic progress: non-oil trade reached USD 5.6 billion in 2024, highlighting the resilience of economic relations. The UAE delegation emphasised the importance of the official visit of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed, to Astana in May 2025, which reaffirmed the intention to deepen strategic cooperation and explore new opportunities for innovation.

Financial instruments attract international investors
Experts point to growing interest in regional markets. Fresh Dubai real estate updates indicate a steady inflow of capital and the emergence of promising new projects shaping the investment landscape of the Gulf region. Al Mazrouei stressed that the UAE’s approach is built on sustainable partnership, economic diversification and shared prosperity. The session concluded with the signing of a protocol in which both sides renewed their commitment to turning joint priorities into tangible results. On the sidelines of the committee, the minister held a roundtable with the Governor of the Astana International Financial Centre, Renat Bekturov. Participants highlighted the importance of monitoring ongoing projects and opening new horizons for cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises in key sectors. Key areas of agreement:
- Expansion of cooperation in artificial intelligence and digitalisation
- Joint initiatives in the space sector and energy
- Support for entrepreneurship through new partnership opportunities

Among international buyers, UAE mortgage options for non-residents are increasingly discussed — a tool that provides access to the market even for those living outside the country. This has become particularly appealing against the backdrop of zero property tax and high rental yields. During the visit, Al Mazrouei also chaired the sixth session of political consultations, while Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev represented Kazakhstan. Both sides exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest. The minister held separate meetings with the heads of Kazakhstan’s transport and energy departments, discussing prospects for cooperation in logistics, shipping corridors and energy projects.
